The VTCT Level 3 certificate in Facial Electrotherapy is a vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a facialist within the beauty or aesthetic industry. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a skin specialist, as the units contained in this qualification cover those skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
You will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment, how to promote client care and communication in beauty related industries, how to apply micro dermabrasion techniques and the study of dermatology and microbiology which will give you that deeper understanding of the types of skin conditions and diseases that may be presented to us as a skin specialist within the skin and aesthetic industry. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a facialist including facial skin care, and electrotherapy treatments, health and safety and client care.

This course for those who are looking to increase their skills and knowledge to allow them to follow a career within either the salon or clinic. This course is specifically beneficial for those who may wish to further enrol onto higher levels of study onto to our level 4/5 programmes with many required for the aesthetic industry.

This is a fast track programme. You can choose to pace your course at either 12 weeks duration 1 day per week, or 2 evenings per week for 12 week. Modification to the duration may be possible due to time constraints. Course work is delivered by live class participation for both theory and practical assessment. There is an aspect of online activity which allows students to study and participate at their own pace. Students are able to submit all theory work by way of online portal, which is collated and marked by your tutor. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout the duration of the course. This is a relatively fast paced course which is enjoyable as it offers those treatments found in various settings within the beauty and clinic based industry.

This, coupled with your input, will allow you to progress to a level expected for certification. Part of the course allows for live clinic participation giving you the confidence to work within industry.
