The course runs over 14 weeks duration (3 days class instruction) and can be modified due to student time constraints. Course work is by way of live class participation for both theory and practical assessment. There is an aspect of online activity which allows students to study and participate at their own pace. All assessment is logged within a portfolio which is collated and marked by your tutor. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout.  

The practical aspect will be taught in class over 2 days. However, students are required to carry out 2 on-going case studies which are carried out at the ESA clinic on clients under observation. Days will be depended on client availability. Case studies will be comprehensive by way of consultation which form an important aspect of the case studies, where full evaluation and self-reflection are discussed. On-going tutor support and instruction will be given.

Radiofrequency forms part of the new level 4 non aesthetic treatments. It has been developed as part of the initiative to drive beauty therapy qualifications to a high standard to ensure safe systems of work that meets health and safety standards.

Radiofrequency uses RF energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, helping to reduce and diminish fine lines and flaccid skin. Like other non-ablative treatments treatment times and duration are usually over 8 weeks to improve skin condition. This treatment is an alternative to those clients who do not want to go down the aesthetic or surgical route. There are various frequencies of RF found on the market which use monopolar, bipolar or unipolar. RF can be used for fat reduction, body contouring, lifting and tightening.
