ESA CERTIFICATE IN REFLEXOLOGY
Increase your skill set by enrolling onto foot reflexology. Taught by a Reflexologist you will be shown how to map the feet, locate the zones of the foot for a therapeutic and holistic treatment which is beneficial to the body as a whole. Clients will also benefit from the relaxation and pressure techniques which form part of the treatment. Reflexology can be performed as a stand- alone treatment or form part of a massage, or spa treatment.

At ESA we follow the Eunice Ingham method of foot reflexology. She found that by using small pinpoint manipulations of the foot had a therapeutic affect on the body.

Reflexology has been used for many years dating back to 3000BC. Hieroglyphics can be found in the Egyptian tombs where it was used for its therapeutic uses. It was thought that by doing so it would have a healing effect. Using the feet, we can map out the body and is seen as a mirror image; that is we can use our fingers and thumbs to work specific areas pertaining to the body.

Treatments are normally performed over several sessions for full beneficial effect. Some clients see it as a form of massage but it so much more than that. Those clients looking for a reflexology range from those looking for relaxation to those in the sports field for a more therapeutic effect.

Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the foot is required by reflexologists. This 1 day course will give you the grounding and insight into the treatment. To further your knowledge, you can enrol onto the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology course to give you the further skills required to comfortably work within the different areas found within the complimentary area of massage and holistic therapies. This more advanced course covers reflexology of the hand and ear also.
